Running Start
Running start is a dual credit program where you attend a community college and earn college credit while simultaneously earning high school credit. Check out the frequently asked questions below for more information.
Ready to get started?
- Complete the first four steps listed on: https://spscc.edu/admissions/running-start
- Once you’ve completed the first four steps, register for classes at SPSCC.
- Need help choosing classes? Email your counselor to set up an appointment, or stop by the counseling center at THS. Your high school counselor will go over the remaining high school required classes/credits and help you select classes.
- Complete the last steps on: https://spscc.edu/admissions/running-start
- Schedule an appointment with your counselor to get your RSEVF form signed. You need to do this every quarter and needs to be turned into SPSCC each time.
*If you plan on attending Running Start in the fall, make sure to get your RSEVF signed by your counselor by the end of the school year, as counselors will not be available over the summer to sign them. SPSCC requires you to turn it in by early September, usually before school starts at THS.
